Purpose

To preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ until the convert becomes not only a believer, but a disciple.

Vision

To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ by investing in the communities we live in through education, church, service projects, and sports to grow disciples.

History

Michell Marte started his ministry nearly 20 years ago when he was first called into ministry. His journey wasn’t always clear, but he continued to obey the calling God has continuously put on his life. It all started when he was young and his pastor that would walk to his home to share the Gospel, even in the rain. The pastor said “the Gospel is emergency news”, and that lead him in to pastoring himself. Later, Michell started to host church services in his sister’s driveway for a few locals, helping bring a man to give his life to Christ. Michell had no idea this would lead to opening a church to serve more people in the community!

Michell worked with several ministries throughout the years, going to student Bible camps, Christmas Drives, and sports camps. Michell first launched Ministerio Mas Que Creyentes in 20XX with the church in Ponton.

Fast forward to 2015, people in the community of Navarrete asked Michell about the possibility of starting a school in a neighborhood that required children to cross a dangerous highway in order to attend their current school. Starting a school had never been a calling on Michell’s heart and he didn’t have the necessary resources to build one. However, he did pray about it, once.

Years had gone by as the community continued to approach Michell about opening a school, but Michell just didn’t know how it could be done through the ministry. Not too long after this, the director of Casas por Cristo, Josh Crabb called Michell and ask, “Do you know someone that is building or is interested in building a school? Because I have someone here that would really like to help.” Without hesitation, Michell said, “Yes, I have a location for a school.” In that moment, Michell felt God working. He knew he needed to explore this opportunity.

Josh and Michell met at the potential school site, brainstormed, and prayed. When they left that day, Michell didn’t know what to expect and didn’t have a plan, but he was sure of one thing; God already had everything planned.

A few months later, Michell got a call from Josh saying that they had raised the first $20,000 for the school and were ready to get started. So they began construction in 2020 on the first 2 classrooms and opened for their first school year in 2021. Each year, the ministry has been blessed to partner with incredible teams and donors to add another classroom to the school each year. We now have pre-school through 5th grade, 88 students, 7 teachers and a psychologist. Now, we are fundraising to construct a larger structure to host even more classrooms!
